I just received my second batch of diodes
Very well packaged, but I didn't had the diodes in an alu foil... But better, they were inside a small plastic box, stuck in ESD foam
They weren't damaged, all I noticed is some dust inside the diodes (which comes from the upside foam I think), which I easily removed with (very low pressure) compressed air.
Indeed, good service, thanks!
I attached some pictures, for the fun![]()
I was hoping they'd be available before FLEM. May be any day now I'd guess. Last I heard the price might be somewhere between $2 and $8 each, depending on quantity.Does anybody have an Idea when those Lasorbs are scheduled to be available
and at what price....![]()
Damn man, how do you take such up close pictures?![]()
I hope I don't throw oil on fire here.. but I want to share my experience with a recent purchase of diodes:
I ordered a long die open can diode from HightechDealz.com, he's also a member here I believe. It arrived quickly but when I tested it it seemed dead. No current was flowing through at all.. So I thought it probably got busted during shipment or so.. it traveled all the way from the States to HollandBesides: i was looking for cheap.. so i gotta face the risk i figured.. So I ordered another one from him (yeah that makes sense huh
), among with some other small things. I told him the last one was broken and if he would be so kind to test the diodes before shipping. I wasn't begging for a refund or anything at all..
This was his response:
So last week I received my ordered diodes PLUS an extra diode in a module PLUS a pre-harvested diode in a sled.. How about that huh? Is this a great gesture or what? And all working like a charm!Hey Jeroen, I'm sorry about you getting a broken red diode. Sometimes they get damaged during shipment or damaged for
other reasons. Anyways, I'm sending you your order plus 1 of the 20x reds in modules + a 20x diode that you can harvest and use if one of your 20x burns up after you use it. good luck.
I'm not saying that this should be every seller's standard policy.. but I learned a friendly approach gets you further(farther..?).. and can save a lot of frustration
cheers!
Well sometimes it seems a well keep trade secret...
A customer that takes the time and effort to "formulate some critical remarks" is giving the seller a chance to make up. These are the customers the seller has to treasure. Most of the time it takes very little to make up. Because these customers are verbally and socially orientated, they are very willing to share their shopping experience.
Has anyone actually done any kind of "stress test" at the higher power with these open can diodes? Just wondering what kind of results people are seeing. I started a "stress test" on one and within 24 hours I killed it with back relfection. I'm nearly 48 hours into my second "stress test" and so far so good. I've measured the power several times and it's bouncing around between 252mW and 262mW.
