I also like to focus on the object that does matter..
    I had a canon 300D before, now I have a Nikon D200..
It`s my hobby, but have allot more to learn before I can say any of my photos is perfect!
Yeah its nice to be able to put the attention to the things you want to show.
Shallow DOF is nice!! (nice pic btw)
Do you have a own photography site?
norway must have incredable places to photograph!!

    Anyway, back to topic..
Where did you get the R\G\B diodes ?
Red is a LPC-815 sled diode (long open can)
Some drive them on 420mA putting out +300mw
Green is a DX30 model laser on analog driver.
bleu is a violet phr bleuray diode (xbox sled)

And is this some parts that you want to make and sell as a Setup
I love to make tiny electric stuff..
ermmm not really... it are all genric type parts.
    easy for everyone to make/obtain.

    Its a dealextreme DX30 model.
It came with A ttl DRIVER... and i think the Xtal/pump diode is better suited for ttl.
I runs on a STAN_HAM dirver (analog modulation) but it struggles to modulate right...
If the unit gets to cold it acts like on/off modualtion and modehops like crazy.

Not a good laser... but hey.,.. 50$ is cheap.

Sub means below - as in Submarine (below the sea) so Sub 500 dollars is less than 500...

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

    wuahaha....its under 500 dollars :-)
Last time i checked it was 436 dollars for all materials
    scanners, lasers, dichro's, pcb+electronics, alluminium and nuts/bolts
And alot of elbowgrease + freetime.

maybe its possible to make it even more cheaper if someone puts in more time..

I'm sorry.. its the language barrier, i cant always find the right words :-)

I actually wasnt being dumb, when someone from another country type sub in capital letters I dont immediate think of sub-$500, anytime you put three capital letters in front (or behind) of a number and you are talking about money you assume the unknown is a currency note.

Anyhow I guess I was dumb, that is really impressive for under $500 USD. Matter a fact, I would gladly pay $500 for that any time of day.
