    ok seems to work fine!

it seems the original schematic the main and idle pots are labeled backwards so they are also that way on the PCB

I will reply to everyone that PMed me as soon as I figure out the cheapest way to ship these that isn't going to be a huge pain

Sorry. I didn't realize you were doing this via PM so, PM sent.

Looking at the schematic, I think I can make some easy changes to improve it. For example you can get rid of the negative rail input since you only need enough current to run the opamp. Using a different opamp you could go single rail and get down to 5V input. Add a place for one of the pangolin laser diode protection things. The reason to do this is that high current 5V supplies are cheap and bipolar supplies are not.

But the ICL7660 charge pump has to be "UP" before the diode is connected to the circuit. Otherwise the opamp comes up in a undefined state.

That can be handled by using a transistor/fet to not allow the positive rail to flow until the negative rail comes up. In fact if done right you can use it as an extra regulation schema. The other way is to use a 555 timer to make drive some of the other negative rail chips. I think it is worth doing to eliminate the negative rail requirement. I do however think floating ground is asking for problems so I didn't mention the divider method. I guess now that almost every diode is case isolated these days it prob would not matter but why chance it. There is the inductor way as well. I think the P3 uses that.

I just realize, I'm doing this wrong but is still working fine for about 4 years in more than six circuits.

With a single 5 Volts + and ground.
To get it right you are saying that I have to put +6 and -6?

    Thanks and cheers,

    PS sorry about my English.
