    Default ALC68 interlock

    Hi All,
I have a friend who just aquired an ALC68 with matching PSU and he's having some trouble firing it up.

I dont have it in front of me, per se, so it's hard to see what it needs to run.

He is saying there is a bunch of screw terminals on the back and he needs to know what he needs to connect to satisfy all the interlocks and be able to adjust current and all that jazz.

Can anyone give me some tips? Sorry for the lack of info, like I said I dont have the laser so I'm just going off of what he is saying.

I'm probably going to be getting this laser shortly, so I want to see it making some good blue/green power!!

    Thanks!

I dont recall any interlocks on a 68 PSU. There are about 8 or so connections you need to make to the head though. Annode, cathode, start circuit, magnets, temp sensor off the top of my head.

Is it a single plug connector or are the connections made individually by screw terminal?

    Thanks!

The ALC68 I had did not have any interlocks except on the head cover where it had a switch to make sure the head is closed.

All the wires coming from the head are in their correct terminals on the PSU. Does the PSU require anything else to light? How does one adjust power?

No need to make any other connections other than the wires that go to the head?

EDIT: I thought I should add, he just let me know that this head doesn't have a single large connector to make all the connections, instead they are individual connections made at screw terminals on the PSU. He said the head was connected the PSU by the previous owner and there are no extra wires that aren't in terminals coming from the head. Assuming everything is working, he should just be able to plug it in and it will fire on it's own, right? Is there an external way to control current via the logic terminals, or is it set at a fixed output (only adjustable by internal circuit board pots)?

I have that one already scanned on CD.

It usually needs some external pots. call me some time tomarrow evening.
I gotta do a 60x schematic for another guy, and suddenly found myself with more emergency repairs for a customer then I can handle.

The connections should be very similar to that of your HGM

    We got it going

He sent me some pictures of the wiring. he said the "overtemp" light came on as soon as he powered it up, so I had him trace the temp sensor wires and told him which terminal to connect it to. After that he powered it back up and it lit up nice and easy.

Now I gotta figure out how to ship it without breaking some brewster stems....
