    hey guys i dont post here often i try to read a lot i am going to buy me either a handheld or a labby i need some advice on these units and of course you guys are the experts

    choices

    Viasho 50 to 100 mw 457 or 473 labby 5% stability 900.00 usd

    cni labby 473 nm 50 mw @ 10% stability 600.00 usd

    rpl 30 mw 473 1000 usd

    pgl 3 50 mw cni 550.00

    my first choice is optotronics any help would be appreciated
    sorry if i posted in wrong area i am asking for technical responses here also if anyone has any of these please pm me or post it here

    Honestly, I would go with one of the labby modules. The Viasho would be my preference because you get a nicer power supply and you can get the 457nm.

    I am willing to bet 99% of us are going to say lab module because we all have projectors. You can also get more power for your $. I'd really like to have 457 in my projector, but 50mW is a little low for my balance. It all depends on your goals.

    I also vote for the labbys, even if you aren't putting it in a projector. With a lab module you can turn the laser on and really enjoy it, rather than a short period of on/off with a pointer. Lab lasers are designed to run for hours at a time so you can really just let 'er rip and have fun with it. If you really want an opto unit, save yourself some cash and get it direct from viasho.

    id say a lab laser aswell as there are more uses for them. and i bought a laser wave and am very very impressed. the one i got was tested at over 500mw showing they supply there lasers well over spec.
    if your in the us mark at ct lasers is a really helpful bloke
