Hi Photonlexicon,
I am trying to blank a Laserscope laser for scanning slow speed/small angle graphics. The beam is approx 10mm diameter, 532nm wavelength, 40W average power, but Q-switched with reduced duty cycle and powerful pulses, not CW.
I considered AOM for modulation, but it is very expensive to buy an AOM with sufficient power handling capability and the necessary telescopes to fit the beam into the AOM. Instead I am planning to use eye magic scanners with 10mm aperture, and retro reflector blanking technique (no modulation).
Retro reflector blanking technique bounces the beam from a first scanner into a retroreflecting prism, then back onto the same scanner out to the X-Y mechanism.
Does anybody have any diagram or more information about this technique?
Does anybody know where I can get a a retroreflector prism for 532nm?
Any other advice for me? I am interested to hear any comments.
Best regards,
weartronics
