    Default The ultimate projector case?

I have just gotten hold of a big pile of military style 19" rack cases, some by Hardigg and othe made by a finnish company called Armeka OY .
They are water and airtight with pressure valves and humidity indicators, heavy duty! I have 3, 4 & 6 HE
They are big as **** but seem very tough, I might mount my projector in one of the smaller ones. They consist of big outer shell with an inner 19" rack secured by rubber shock absorbers or big spirals of steel wire.

I would like to keep them all but my storage space is limited. It would be nice to sell some but the shipping cost will be prohibitive since i'm in Sweden.
I'll propably donate most of them to the company I work for, that way I can use them but don't have to pay for storage!

One of the cases is extra cool, it was propably used as some kind of portable command post and is about 160x30x45 cm. Inside it is cutouts for a lot of strange equipment and in true military style there is even a fold out heavy duty waterproof tent/sunshade with aluminium supports and sides!
I should make a killer pirate radio station, techno DJ-system or laser show center out of it!

    Question

I am not sure I am getting a good perspective... Do you have any pictures you have taken? That MAC Rack is kinda cool.

    Default re

im using a 3u case for a 1 watt rgb and from what i can tell it will be perfect. its still in the process of being built but seems to be exactly what i wanted.
when i split it the diodes are in the middle where i want them and im going to mount the scanner amps on the side of the case. it makes mounting very simple i think.

i think it is a very good idea using amp cases for home built lasers but thats just my opinion.

    cheers ollie

    Here are some pictures:

You can see parts of the coiled steel wire suspension in the bottom left.
If you make a big square panel it will be completely water and airtight, the black stuff in the front is a big rubber gasket.

I wouldn't stick that underwater with lasers in it unless you have tested it alot! However, if you limited the angle of the laser to the water, you could get some neat effects with total internal reflection.
    CLICKY!!!

Haha, I didn't mean that you should put it under water!
More in the line of making an enclosure that can be used at outdoor events without fear of rain.

Here is some pictures of the big case:

With the tent up, very Mission Impossible?
