At the moment im interested in led lighting as it seems to be improving incredably quickly.
anyone got any expirience and reviews as im staying clear until i am overly confident its as good as halogen light source.

soon im going to be setting all my dmx gear up including a few lasers and creating a light and laser show to a particular song. any song requests? one with slow and fast parts to the song is always a good choice with a good strong beat. i like human by the killers but unsure it will make a good show

    Hey Ollie

i bought a pair on mircaLEDs (ACME) last year - they work really well with laser and have strong beams themselves

Here's some pics from Waveform 2008 where we lit one of the chillout stages.

Different sort of gig, using lots of effects projectors predominently.

Unfortunately you lose a lot in the still shots, the whole inside of the dome was moving with patterns.

Also had a kaleidoscope centred on the flower in the roof of the dome - lots of people missed it but once someone spotted it you saw people stood staring straight up, caught up in the moment, which then spread like an infection as people thought 'what are they looking at'

I've linked to the Opti site so you can get a sense of what some of the effects are like... I love my Solar 250's

I don't have too many pics of my club installs now that my one hard drive crashed...but here are a few of a club I did...

    8 martin mini macs
    4 chauvet min spots
    4 martin 812
    2 martin atomic 3000
    1 martin wizard
    1 martin magnum 2000
    1 chauvet color wash pallet
    light jockey controller
and 1 shiny disco ball :-)

I will say that LED lights are awesome! Especially for the puke lights (solid patterns that go with the beat), wash lights, pars, ect. However, they just haven't come far enough in the intelligent lighting yet...one day I hope, because those hid bulbs are expensive and a pain to replace on 100ft ceilings! The new martin smart mac mmm yes please! Best designed intelligent light I've installed to date.

I will say those min spots from chauvet are pretty awesome, just need more power! Cool little effect light for the price, but any martin light I have just destroys it for candle power and speed. But then again I'm compairing a $300 light to a $2000 light. Get what you pay for

From the videos, Gatecrasher 1 (before it burn't down) used to use multicoloured strobe (I think LED) panels that could flood with one colour, colour change or strobe. The effect was awesome in turning the whole club from one colour to the next:

2 Wicked gas lasers as well.

have fun choosing ur new toys!

Miricaleds are awsome for an led fixture, they don't look under powered even next to HID roboscans.

Here's some from one of my events
