Having said that - its only a 16x pic that would be easy to write your own code for if you found where the pin-outs went

    Default Thermotek failures (continued)

Sorry for reviving a zombie thread, guys and gals.

I picked up 2 dead ThermoTek T255P units, both with earth faults. I took one apart (talk about maintenance-unfriendly) and discovered that leakage of coolant around the upper heat exchanger port had caused some kind of electrochemical etching of the HE alloy underneath the Peltier element, which also eventually led to a failure of the Peltier and a low resistance current path from the Peltier to ground. See pics.

As the SMPS outputs are not completely isolated from the mains supply, this led to an earth leakage current on the supply side.

I took out one of the Peltiers from the other unit and successfully made one working chiller from the two dead ones.

Just curious if you have a spare controller board from these chillers that look like the one I attached. One of the mosfets went bad, and I am having trouble finding a replacement.

    Let me know

    Thanks

    Hi George,

For some reason I can’t see the picture but I definitely have a spare controller board, I did not throw anything away that wasn’t fried...

But it’s halfway across Europe in my “other laser parts” shack (don’t ask, it’s a very embarrassing condition beyond medical aid), and with the current COVID-19 restrictions in force I probably won’t get there until late October.

If it can wait, just keep reminding me.

PS you can get these MOSFETs from China: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-x-IXFK20N...cAAOSwrWBd5iwn
