Wave lumia tubes

For sale , for the next two weeks, starting Jan 13th

Wave Lumia tubes, 5$ each plus postage for a 2" 18 mm OD tube. You'll need to supply your own motor. No two will be alike, your choice of twist or poked. I can also fill one end with casting plastic if you need a way to make a mount that fits on a mother shaft. Larger or smaller diameters by special request.

Uh, 'Professor' (Steve) this might be a good 'chalkboard' for us to refer guys to, for specific lumia refs... ie: Gary, I am pretty-sure THIS was done with a 'torture tube' (the 'Sun') ...

You'd need a movie, its a motion effect, back and forth, back and forth in a line perpendicular to the tube axis.

Invest? At five bucks I'd have one just to see what it looked like. Steve, I'll buy one if I can get that pair of optics coated. Chad at Meredith says it will be ok to send them to you if I buy, so the tube can cross the ocean with them.

Those images look a lot like the output of a Laserpod.

I have one and they're quite relaxing to look at.

Hmm larger and smaller diameters.. Would it work well to have concentric counter-rotating tubes, or would the light become too scattered and ruin the effect?

Its really a art tuning the glass with the torch for a given divergence. ITs easy to get big splatter, hard to get a small beam. I Imagine its possible to do counter rotating tubes, I had not thought of that. Greg Makhov at LSDI has something he calls a Zoomia, with a big lens, so I suspect if you add a lens to get the divergence down, two disks or two tubes would work just fine.

Never tried it.
