    Default Scanner Tuning Help

I have andys old 10k laserpic10 kit and somewhere down the line at my end something has happened to the galvos or the amp. When scanning on certain animations or large beam effects the top and left sides of the animation make a huge mess and scribbles everywhere.

My theory is something is up with the pots on the amp and they need a little tweaking. I have played about with it turning them anti clockwise slowly and it has fixed the more serious problem where the y galvo would freeze but it hasn't fixed the problem above.

It might help if I knew what exactly each pot meant and what its for. So here goes... What does the gain, servo gain, low frequency dampening and high frequency dampening do?

It could be damage if it only shows distortion in crtain parts of the scanned image, or your gain (scan angle) might be too high and you're getting out of the range of the position sensor.

For descriptions on the pots and tuning in general, consult:

Any ideas if this is possible to do without a DMX controller or ILDA? I have no real way of freezing on one of the effects.

    grrr....

due to web site issues i cant upload the 10k user manual.

lambo if possible can you upload it?

    anyway

    VR1 - Y Gain
    VR2 - X Gain
    VR3 - Y servo gain
    VR4 - X servo gain
    VR5 - low frequency damping
    VR6 - high frequency damping

am i correct in saying that the X & Y gain needs to be adusted to alter the scan angle?
    anyone who knows?

That's what I thought but they have been turned down at least 1 full turn and its only fixed the major problem where the Y galvo froze. Any ideas how many turns are on them?

    Manual attached.

    Damn...

I sent an email to laserpic but they sent me a website explaining how to do it for the 30k ilda set...

In theory I only have to keep turning the X and Y down slowly until it stops?

Right ok, I have been playing about with it for a while and I have fixed the scribble on the left side, I just need to do the same for the top now. I still have the trouble where I can't freeze on a frame, I adjusted it to the first animation effect by switching between modes each time.

Only other thing I noticed is some of the effects repeat themselves next to each other. Imagine a mirror in the middle of a shape, just in opposites. Like a Christmas tree, it puts the left half on the left where its meant to be and the right side is mirrored onto the wrong side of the tree.

Maybe you can use DMX board, let it work audio mode. and select some graph, like circle, rectangle.
and adjust pots of driver, let graph looking the best.
(you can select one graph by sound, please adjust potentiometer to maximum when you get graph.)
