Dont know if there are troubles depending on the version it runs with but I have used it ok with 2.95 - I seem to remember Kevski had trouble when we set his up with a new version of wa

If you need to ask the question 'whats so good about a laser' - you won't understand the answer.

It runs better on the newer versions of Winamp, but it's supposed to be OK all the way down to version 3.something. It *might* work below that, but no promise of stability.

I can say that it works flawlessly on V5.54 though!

    Really?

    That's great news

I never wanted to install a Winamp version higher than 2.95 as I know that was proven stable and I was reluctant to install a newer version in case I had problems - As they say 'If it aint broke don't fix it'

I'm sure I read somewhere that there were issues with newer versions and the plugins. That's now my job for the weekend - Try the latest version of Winamp, thanks Adam

Are you sure there are no problems with either the LivePRO plugin OR the Winamp visualisations. I have a few really neat oscilloscope/wave type patterns that I would really miss if they didn't work

    Cheers

    mine is working fine now

dont think ill use it though unless someone can tell me a reason for it.

i though it would sync all the graphics individually to the beat but all i can get it to do is run automaticaly and my laser do that anyway.

    am i using it wrong?

Read the help file for the plug in. There is a way listed that is supposed to do some fairly nice things although I have not taken the time to test it out. There are a number of steps and I think I would like to see someone else walk through it before I give it a go.

You're coming to UKLEM aren't you?... If you can be patient until then all will become clear. Mark (Insanity) is going to give a few hints and tips on using LivePRO and i'm sure he'll cover the use of the plugin.

With a live audio feed you can do some really cool stuff, and it's great to see the beams pulsating and fading in and out to the beat of the music etc.

Be patient my boy, be patient

Yeah, but in this case, the later versions made considerable changes to the visualization engine, and I'm pretty sure Justin's plug-in uses some of the same code. I haven't had any problems with either the Live Pro plug-in or the Laser Visualizer plug in, and I've been running version 5.x for over 18 months now.

This doesn't have anything to do with Pangolin, but there used to be a compatibility problem with 5.29 and Mamba Black a while back. It was fixed with the 1.90 release of Mamba. That's the only problem I remember anyone ever reporting with Winamp as it related to laser shows.

Are these presets that you've come up with yourself? If so, then how about you share the love? Upload them to the FTP server!

    Hi Oli;

Yeah, you're probably using it wrong. It *does* syncronize the graphics to the beat if you've got it set up correctly. Jeremy is right: Since the UKLEM is coming up soon, it's probably best if you plan on bringing your rig to the event. That way they can show you how to set it up properly.
