No I am not even going to the legal aspects of it....I appreciate the concern and will not advise the general public to own such a laser. On another note who are we to be considered safe from a public standpoint? Yes we have exposure to and have worked with lasers beyond most general public and understand the implications of the smallest mistakes. Common sense is a thing of the past IMHO.Just pick up a paper and watch the local news.... I see it all the time.....machine with a warning label as "This machine has no brain of it's own,Use yours". I can see some kind of certification and liability issue in the not so distant future. Don't get me wrong...not taking sides at all! I just expressed a liking of a good deal on parts...mainly a nice, new diode. Bottom line is I like to get a deal on laser parts. That's all. BTW glad to see you here Steve.

    Brilliant Steve

Welcome to Photonlexicon, and thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself properly. That's a much much nicer way to ease yourself into this wonderful community. It takes a while to build up trust and respect here, you initially just came on a bit too strong and expected everyone here to trust you straight away.

Gradually everyone here will get to know you and i'm sure the initial hostility (if that's the right word) that you experienced will quickly die away. I wish you all the best for the future.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the welcome Jem,
I'm so pressed for time I didn't even think about how people would perceive my posts. and having my own forum where everyone knows me, the thought of not being trusted never crossed my mind.
The Raffle was in the works long before my registering here as well.

So a fresh start seemed the best way to go, I'm sure things will improve greatly very soon.

My favorite is a Uniphase Model 211-20SLE, its about 35mW and projects a beautiful cyan colored beam.
