Can you swap the plate out Steve, ie is there enough vertical room to put in a much thicker one?
You have to be sure Mate....Absolutely!
I will do as soon as possible. I already have a new 1 cm baseplate but I still have to cut it at the right size. I am waiting for a friend which is the owner of a laser's and plsma's cutting workshop.... He will cut it for free
Surelly I will have to change the case too, as it is too weak for support 1 cm baseplate and hasn't enough vertical room too

Anyway.... a very good new just arrived from Bridge about my old >200mw blue unit. It's ready to shipping. Problem has been fixed. Tested at LW Factory it given out at least 225mw and highest peak power has been 254mw after 3 hours on work).
I can't wait to receive it for to upgrade my RS-800RGY projector.

Nice work Steve! Sure wish I lived closer to you! Unlike your lousy neighbors, I'd appreciate having someone living next door that had such cool gear.

Great job on the projector retrofit pal...

    Default Second RGB unit completed!

    Second RGB finished and working!
RS800RGY is dead.... now a new RGB is born.
I haven't used not even the original case from Laserword...too deformable.... too thin baseplate...

So I am completing new case. I made a wood case (special marine wood, 2cm thickness). Inside I placed - at the upper level - the alu board for modules and optics, 1cm thickness.
At ground level there is another alu board 3 mm thickness for PSU's and galvo's drivers. Obviously both alu boards are ground wired each other and with main 220V ground too
Alignment is not good yet.... but I will work hard next weekend to fix it....
    a.s.a.p. I'll post more pics.

Following pictures are dedicated to Rob and Bridge...
and all of you, of couse.
    Thanks a lot Mates!

    Greets!

    Thumbs up

Steve's new projector is using some of the building designs I incorperate, nice solid thick Alum.Base plates.it takes more time but optics are firm and stable,DPSS's run cool when ambients are up there!
    good job Steve!
I do not think I would ever use wood..Maybe for a FIRE!

As I promised, here I go to post few nes pics of my upgraded projector.

    Case is 90% completed.
Dimensions are (overall, without metal handle):
    44cm length, 30cm width, 26cm height.
Weight is 15kg (16.2kg when completed)
I have to cut at the right lenght all screws on the *roof* of case (it's an open-top case...), then to add metal panels on the back and on the front.
ILDA in/out connector is ready: it comes from the old case.
I also add a small switch for to invert +X/-X galvo signal, so I can play "mirroring" effects when needed (Thanks to Adam *buffo* for suggestion)
I will add also aluminium angulars all around edges, to hide wood junctions.

Then.... black paint will be all over the case.

    Thanks to Laserned for appreciate

    That's all Folks (for now...)
