Good news from Beijing....
Just heard Bridge by skype.... this weekend my old >200mw blue will be send back to its Daddy (ME!). Its problem has been fixed at LW factory.

Then finally will be upgrade from RGY to RGB... My Laserworld projector will be my RGB analogue proj n°2:

specs:
>250mw @ 635nm
150mw @ 532nm
>200mw @ 473nm
all lasers analogue driven
50kpps scan (first LW-50K series from Laserworld)

NICE! It was nice of Laserworld to leave enough space in there for a blue.

That looks good although the base looks like just an extrusion because of the lines on it. I would be concerned with the rigidity of it.

I'm pretty sure its steel Ben. I've not noticed any alu in mine although myself and Jem did only have it open for a short while.

Interesting that they would use steel on the projector. It would cost only a little less but would increase wear and tear on the tools so I would guess it would ultimately cost more.

Optical baseplate is made of very low quality aluminium, 5 mm thickness... too much flexible. You have just only to move the case from here to there.... and you lose RGY alignment for sure.
In fact, I have to reset alignment in practice everytime I use the projector....

Optical baseplate is made of very low quality aluminium, 5 mm thickness... too much flexible. You have just only to move the case from here to there.... and you lose RGY alignment for sure.
In fact, I have to reset alignment in practice everytime I use the projector....

I stand corrected on material though I've never noticed any alignment change in mine but then again I don't project the ILDA test patterns only sound to light patterns. I do move mine a lot though.

Have you actually lost alignment Steve or are you just speculating because like I said, I've had no noticeable problems.

I'm also noticing vertical bracing bars in your photo which may compensate for the thickness. Maybe thats why there's no movement I can detect.
