Lightbulb UKLEM 4 Live Lasershow spectacular !!!!

Now that I have your attention

There have been a couple of threads floating about with ideas to make UKLEM 4 something special. Things like linking all the lasers together and running a few shows, Live Pro Training, Mamba Training etc.

I for one would love to see this become a really spectacular event. So I thought it was time to see what the rest of ya think?

I don't want to turn it into a Scout Camp or become any kind of fun police , but think some organised activities would give us even more to look forward to and hopefully help UKLEM to grow. Thanks to Mark (Fluff) we have a great venue and we should make the best possible use of it.

So, here is a suggestion to get the interest rolling.
I am happy to do a Live Pro training if there is enough interest, I think there is a side room we can use.

Time permitting, the training would cover:

    Introduction to the workspace
Covering the layout, cue elements, live controls and the cue properties tab
    Projection zones
How to set up multiple zones, sending cues to different zones and using attenuation maps
    Environments
Using the beam chaser and setting up MIDI controllers
    Creating Effects
Designing your own Effects, Key Effects and Colour Cycles

I don't mind somebody filming this if they want to, but would ask that they ask my permission before distributing it. I don't want to tread on any toes at Pangolin and training is my full time profession, so I have to be a bit careful.

Of course, for the Non Live Pro users I am sure others can offer help & training if needed.

We could then go away for a couple of hours and try out our new skills.

Then for the Grand Finale we could arrange all the lasers on trussing around the stage and link them up to several controllers and do the Greatest show on Earth..

    Who's in?

    Sounds good Mark.
I'd suggest setting a time limit though (say 1 - 1 1/2 hours) as if it's just stretching into the distance then peeps may get bored and wander off (thereby making you feel your own input is less valued).

Having a specific limit may well help you to structure and plan the "lesson" giving you an idea of how long to spend on each item before moving onto the next.

    Sounds like fun to me

As you know i've fancied the idea of doing a mega projector link up for a while now. I think the training is also a great idea and i'm glad you brought it up again Mark

Great idea I agree a bit of relaxed structure would help us get more from the day.
IIRC there's a bar/room at the front of the venue that would be ideal for a separate training area, and there's doors between that and the main room. Count me in as the 1st attendee although I'm only there to make sure your training is up to scratch you understand

I'm liking the big lase off idea from the stage too, definitely in for that

    I agree totally..

Normally at work I dictate start and end times, breaks, blah blah.. But I don't want to do that here... I would rather you guys decide amongst yourselves how much time you want to spend and I will work round you to make sure you get the most out of it...

Last thing I want to do is turn this into Scout Camp

And to be fair, I wouldn't want to spend all day Sunday teaching and then get up Monday morning and do it again in my real job...

Isn't Andy the official Video man for the UKLEM's?

You'll have to ask him nicely if he'll bring his tripod along.
