just scraped the glue out of the lens and adjusted it out. ~2.5 mm at the laser and around 12mm 30 ft away = a little over 1 mrad. looking pretty good.

I've got 5 of these.. they are great for the $$, but two of mine have slight issues staying stable under modulation. To be expected from systems with no active stability control, though, and I am not unhappy with them at all.
I've also repaired and taken apart several, and it seems that they use DPMs of all shapes and sizes. I've pulled crystal sets out of them with dimensions ranging from 1mm x 1mm x 3mm to 2mm x 2.5mm x 4mm. Very efficient little DPMs, though, regardless of size.
Do you happen to have any pictures of the insides of thes little lasers? I have two broken ones (one DOA/replaced and I got to keep the broken one and the other due to me turning the pot and propably creating some noise or spikes that killed the diode...) and I would like to experiment some with them. I got a 2W 808 w. FAC to try out, what power pump diode is in there, 1W?
It's a 500mW pump. If you set the whole head on a TEC, it's possible to use a 1W (or your 2W underdriven at 1W) but the crystals will only take so much.. It's good that you have FAC, since it is required.
I haven't taken any pics of the inside of any of mine except the diode and it's mount. That pic is in my album. The inner module is held in place by a set screw on the bottom of the heatsink. When you replace the diode, i recommend scoring a mark along one edge of the dead diode before you remove it. This helps you keep the alignment close. There's also a tiny hole in the mount just behind the diode die itself. If the alignment of the new diode is still off somehow, centering the die in the exact middle of this hole will get you very close.
I replaced the diode in one of mine with a 1W diode and I haven't had any problems so far running at 150+mW.
