Dave, you need to get yourself a high amperage breaker, maybe 50A, and get yourself a transformer to go from 120v to 220-240VAC. I can't see why that wouldn't work, unless I'm missing something.

So your new place doesn't have any 220v outlets either? I would think the service going into your house would be 220 and you would just need to add the right breaker, but I'm probably very wrong. I'm spoiled with 240v 200A service...

In your breaker panel, do you have two vertical rows of breakers or just one?

Gary from Clovis CA is still a go. We will be driving up tomorrow 14th and are staying at the Shilo Inn. I have Pat’s office and cell number and will check-in on Friday to see if you need any help and where dinner is....

The place I moved into is a modular home. The service coming in is very limited and very old. The circuit in my "workshop" is simply one that I doubled up through the wall from the circuit that the refridgerator is on. The panels in the trailer have no "extra" spaces and cannot be upgraded (without significant reconstruction). However, I have a million dollar view and only pay $500 a month for my half of the space rent and utilities. I believe I'm going to live here until it is time to move in with you

My only other option for 220V is to buy a large generator. Then I would have to put up with the noise, fuel, and storage of it. I could sell the laser, but I hate selling something that I cannot warranty. Of course, if we get it running up there, I could at least say that I tested it, eh?

    Peace,
    dave

    Dave,
Definitely bring the HeCd!!! I can almost guarantee that we can get her lasing. Since the discharge is blue, meaning too much Cd, we either just need to turn the Cd heater down or make sure the He heater is plugged in and working properly. I'm guessing the former but either way, we'll get her all aligned and hopefully lasing.

Hey Pat, do you have the address for the 'laser playground'?

    Howdy,

I will now be showing up late (it looks like Saturday). I keep trying to build a small projector, hopefully with some duct tape and bailing twine I will have something by Saturday. I will try and head out really early and probably be there a between 9-10. I have the LaserWave door prizes, still sealed in bubble wrap to bring with me. Justin from Pangolin just emailed me with good news, goodies are on the way to Laserman's Lair!

I am looking forward to meeting everybody in person.

It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.

is anybody bring about $20,000.00 with them...i just found 4 plasma tubes 2 168's and 2 265's i didnt know I had come on guys its only money. I found some good things for a silent auction sort of thing. Ummmmm it might have been easier to host it at my house. Got my white elephant gift.

If each LEMMER could think of a 15 minute or 30 minute talk or presentation on their area of expertise that would be informative. I dont have a white board, leave room in your car/truck to take stuff home. I have tons.
