    quarter wave plate = circular polarization or elliptical polarization, which is why it works. Your thinking half wave plate.

    How can you tell a diode is killed by back reflection instead of ESD/lifetime/overcurrent etc.

    Since I'm running with PBS I allready killed 3 diodes without a reason. I thought this was becouse of ESD. Before I was running with 1 the diode last very long.

    No, I'm using QM.nets

    When I still used the easylase I also didn't had that many broken diodes, but this can be coincidense.

    Now I just added 6.8V directional transorbs on the ilda port and 15V unidirectonal transorbs paralell over the laserdiodes. Bill told me transorbs doesn't protect the diodes all the way, but hey I think its better than nothing
