Each red barrel diode give out no more than 80-100mw @660nm
Green module gives out 148mw (I measured few weeks ago by my LaserBeeI meter)
So it had 160-200mw max of red and 148mw of green: 348mw total power.
That guy (projector's owner) has been lucky!
He paid for 400mw and he received almost the exact labeled power...

    Instead me...
    I paid for 800mw..... I received like you: 348mw.
And then you said right: reds died after few hours on job.

These guys (Laserworld) are obviously first-rate pieces of shit. Lasers are expensive enough without people trying to jack you out of your hard-earned money. If you pay the ungodly sum of $175,000USD, you'd better get your money's worth. That's the cost of a fairly decent house where I come from.. I absolutely hate it when people take advantage of other people's lack of knowledge, and I agree wholeheartedly that this topic should be discussed endlessly so that as many people as possible learn the truth.

Laser Warning Hello all - LASERWORLD?

I am new to this forum and thankful for finding it , as i have been debating buying or building a 3-5 watt rgb laser for a while and am determined not to get ripped off.
I was looking at china's fountain lasers for a while, i now see they have turned into a ceramics company! amazing that, especially as i had heard they were very good.
any ways since then i have been every now and then having a search and looking for a high quality unit in a price band of £10k.
today i found laserworld again after been referred that way by a high-end uk laser company. i have looked at the PL-4500RGB- 4.5 watt rgb laser on offer for near enough £10k. stunning spec with a 1mrad beam divergence etc. detailed enclosed. i then discover this forum and am now thinking. may be not as as 10k for that spec is too cheap.... am i not correct?

"The Purelight High End Laser projectors offer the latest, most innovative technology – the all-out solution for every professional application.
Due to their compact plug & play concept, the low consumption (230V/350 W) and the air conditioning, the Purelight systems are optimal for mobile applications.
The inserting of high precision Swiss made state-of-art laser modules possessing waves laying 640 nm red and 445 nm deep blue results in an extended color range with an excellent white luminosity. The inner easy to maintain sandwich-concept configuration is very rugged. The high speed deflection unit is either fitted with CTi scanners or optionally with LW-50 scanners which are known by the scanners of the Proline series.
The results are highest scanning speed as well as true-to-detail and high resolution characteristics on highest level!

Depending on whereabouts in the world you are, order one and tell 'em you'll be popping along to pick it up in person providing you can test the output with a power meter before you hand over any cash.
And as they are advertising it as 4.5 Watts you'll expect to see 4.5 Watts of output (either before or after optics).

After all, what reputable company would refuse .............

Just noticed that their latest ploy to rip people off.
Either some dogs bollox Cambridge scanners or their own.
I wonder which pair most (if not all) end users get ..........

is it possible to tell if a diode is over driven from what it should be, as i could say drive to Switzerland and test it and all look good and then have it burn out in 1 month as it been totally over driven!

Really, if you have ~£10k to drop on a laser, speak to some of the guys on here who might be able to custom build you one. You'll at least get some support and warranty and have it local to you. Is this Rob's department? (other laser builders are available!)
