The new amps are practically the same as the old amps ( i know because i have reverse engineered most of each circuit ) and the circuit is pretty much identical to the CT circuit every Chinese manufacturer copies! Some minor difference in the power limiter.. I'm assuming they did this so the power limiter works properly with a galvo that cant dissipate as much heat as its CT counterpart..

Well, neodymium magnets have a ferocious temperature coefficient; maybe that's the difference.

It does seem your case is the exception tho. We never have any issues targeting mirrors and the like.

Maybe a component is drifting strangely.. Stuka had a issue with a 30k set going out of tune, sent it back and it was fixed..

Well Done you should find a little more spent up front will pay off in the long run.
