    I heard on the news today that the current CEO of the US was not aware of his staff had overlooked the federal funding that went to AIG had also covered top exec's year-end bonuses.....topping over 1 Mill to each ......this is not good any way you look at it.

    This website explains the "how" of this current economic massacre in pretty good detail and with less "vitriol" than I am able to muster.

    It misses a few details of "why" but does stick to the message quite well and it doesn't even attempt to offer solutions, which in my opinion is great.

    The "Sub-Prime family" gave me an Idiocracy vibe.

    But for all intensive purposes, it created the image of "bad decision makers" quite well for a 2d storyboard adaptation...

    And as far as the "books" have shown in real life so far the leveraging was on average 30:1... Very terrifying.

    The only way the stereotype could have been more fitting is if the "Investors" wore top hats and monocles.
