If we get a majority interest I can do barbecue pulled pork sandwiches for lunch on Saturday or Sunday. I'd do ribs but they are too pricey and a danger to optics.

I'll do the sandwiches all on me. I just need an oven to reheat the meat for an hour. Is their an oven at the auditorium, Adam? If some folks can supply sides like baked beans and coleslaw along with some paper plates, disposable utensils and drinks, we have a lunch party!

Here are some pics to get your mouth watering. I just smoked with these shoulders last night for 12 hours with oak and hickory and pulled them this morning. I got a great new rub and mop recipe I just perfected.

I think 6 shoulders would feed everyone at SELEM nicely.

    Let me know....

Also, I'm thinking of driving cross country with Platinum if everything goes as planned. We'll see.

There is a stove at the venue, but we disconnect the wires to that circuit in order to feed a small distribution panel that I bring. That way we have 4 extra 20 amp 110v outlets + a single 50 amp 220v outlet all on the stage. (Of course, you can't run all the 110 outlets plus the 220 one at the same time, but it does give us extra flexibility when it comes to power availability on-stage...)

The B&B will certainly have a stove, but I don't know if they'd let us use it or not. Plus you'd have to transport the food back to the venue afterwards.

The venue does have a microwave oven that we can use, and the idea of a gas burner in the parking lot would also work...

Another thought is to use a crock pot. I like to put a Boston Butt in a crock pot for about 12 hours with a couple cans of soup (cream of onion and cream of mushroom)... When it's done, you pull the pork, add BBQ sauce + some of the drippings from the crock pot and you end up with some awesome BBQ without having to fire up the grill (or the smoker).

Either way, this sounds like a great idea... Sure beats Pizza Hut, KFC, or Burger King for lunch!

    Sacrilege!
    That's not barbecue!!!

Yeah, we can do with a reheat in a crock pot or gas stove with pot as keeperx suggested although 20lbs of meat is quite large and may need more. Gonna need something big if you guys want me to do it. Either way is fine, just a suggestion.

    Hey Evil:

I volunteer to get the baked beans and the cole slaw to go with your new rib rub.

This is great! Unfortunately it happens to be the same weekend (the only weekend) that the better half and I were going to have a mini-vacation!! talk about bad luck. I really wanted to go to this one since I have stuff to demonstrate, and relationships to build!
