    Default Optical bench software

I was trying to find a simple application that is based on an optical bench, you know those with hundreds of holes that you mount components onto.

Tried to find something for laser system design, something that you can drop laser heads, mirrors, beam splitters, lenses, filters etc.. and see the beam paths.

    I didnt find one.

    Any ideas

I don't think such a thing esxists, as there has never been any demand for it. if someone was to create one or link to one it'd be pretty cool, but i'm pretty sure there is no such thing

That exists, it's called solidworks! You can do everything in it! Even make custom designed parts!

It might be worth posting the same question over on the holography forum.

    http://www.holographyforum.org

I'm sure I remember somewhere in the deep and distant past that this was discussed there.

Colin Kaminski who runs the forum will probably know.

    Cheers

Well yeah, you can use 3D modelling programs for this easy, but I think the OP was thinking more along the lines of a little online app
