Use 320kbs Matt you'll notice the difference provided the original is 320 of course. (CD is 192 BTW, 320 is studio).

Even with my 1W RGB i do not score any walls or blinds. I have scortched the leather chair in a few spots and am sure a full beam would burn some blinds but the walls are all good... I would actually have him point it away from the blinds just incase they accidently get opened and his creation get shared with the neighborhood.

		Uh, no it's not.
CD is uncompressed- 16-bit 44.1 kHz stereo linear.
Most studios used 96 kHz 24-bit linear but since storage got so cheap an increasing number are moving to 192 kHz.
None of this has any bearing on the number of kilobits per second of MPEG layer 3 you're using, because neither CD nor studio use that. It's a lossy format and so it is unsuitable for studio use (the generation loss is perceptible even at 320 kbits/sec). CD predates MPEG, and in fact does not use any form of data compression.

And thats a sweet RGB by the way!!!Yeah the only thing I ve burned so far is hands trying to aline stuff,oh and a shirt
! I think I need to do that anyway, its in the middle of our living room
,but thankfuly we have the thick blackout blinds, but im sure they were never made for taking laser hits
Oh does anyone else have eye magic galvos?

Well, I DID burn a pinhole in the wall in our office room with a laser, but that was one of those "doh" moments from letting the direct beam from 1 watt 532nm (green) shine on the wall!!
You shouldn't have to worry about scanned images & beam leaving a "lasting impression" anywhere, but with the powers he is running, a stationary, full-power concentrated beam could definitely scorth something!!
Not that Matt is likely to do that....
