    Among my other jobs, I write bios code for supercomputers for a living, and I have to tell you: you can't combine a whole bunch of processors like that. It doesn't work that way. There's only so many things you can parallelize. Everything else has to happen in sequence.

    As for overclocking- eh, it's really not worth it. I like my computers reliable

    It would be like joining two 7000rpm engines together; twice the power (or there abouts), but still 7000rpm.

    In code this is one thread...

    There is nothing out there that can parallelize that!

    So long as the functionality is serial, the computation has to be serial...

    What I like is the cell processor approach though, where there is a central CPU (PPE) that controls the other cores (SPE) and what they give back...

    So, in the event that you want to do this:
    2498573.23459872364095 + 459.0457623409 = 2499032.28036106454095

    The PPE will divide the floating point operation (multiple computations as they do not fit in one single computation) and later combine the results to generate the last number.

    Oh cool!! What kind of computer do you work on, if you dont mind me asking.
    I know what you are saying, but some how me and my friends ( yes we were really bored) thought it would be fun to mess with our comuters to make them faster,and well they figured out how to do this @ State and well it works. But you are right about overclocking,things tend to be on the buggy side. But Im the kind of person that like to push everything in my computer
    So far its worked out just fine,Its fast... its hot...and its loud!!!!
    And yes I have burned a CPU up, but I did that just for fun!! Good old PIIIs!

    Talking WOW!!

    Well after much drilling and a few drops of blood,everythng is perfctly alined And wow its super bright!!!!!! And its got a nice, white, HOT beam!! runs the raster show perfect!!!
