Can any software prevent too low scan speeds?

I guess it depends on the software. At the end of the day its the signals sent to the scanners that tell them how fast to scan (you can scan a slow pencil beam across a room even with 50K scanners), so potentially yes the software can control scanner speed. However, I doubt you'd want that as your one and only safety feature. Some sort of monitoring circuit with a fast shut off would be desirable as well. However, I'm talking about things over my head here so I'll leave it to others with better software knowledge to elaborate.

Can you provide some more information about this "exposure" meter please ? Was it just an irradiance measuring tool, or was it able to provide measurements on scanned beams ?
