I absolutely realize this. I was just pointing out how quickly humans tend to slide right into the same patterns as other humans.

These are all simply expressions of frustration.

When there are >6K members of any organization, some of them are going to suck.

NOW, who knows the pinout for the 15-prong Clinch Jones plug on a Cyonics 2101

    Peace,

I too think there are some very good members on LPF, eg you daguin, and mainly people with common sense and reasonable grammar. Single lined posts etc annoy the heck out of me, ie, jamilm9 makes many single lined, bad grammar'ed posts, but I havent found him to "abuse" other members.

*Some* people on there are outright stupid.

Hey, check it out, my first post

Got referred here by the stuff goin on over at LPF.

I'm pretty new to the laser scene, at least as far as building stuff and being active in the hobby, but I guess you could say I'm well-known over there. And, in my limited time in this hobby, LPF has been a good introduction to it all. I have noticed that lately there have been many new members, many knowing little-to-nothing... BUT, that's ok! We all start somewhere. However, I've also noticed that there has been an increasing amount of people starting fights there since I joined in Dec 07. I just stay away from it, really.

But, there are plenty of interesting things going on over there as well and lots of good people. Unfortunately, it's the not-so-good people that get the attention. I just hope that it doesn't ruin the reputation of LPF in the long-run.

I'll continue visting there, but I think I'll also start branching out and give this place a try too

Before you finish, don't let this turn into a back and forth forum thing. The original post has served its purpose, it's taken care of, there is no need to name names and draw people over here to defend themselves. No one wants that including Spec our admin.

It's sufficient to say that LPF is large and serves a different market than PL, and with that market comes a different mixed flavor good and bad. I enjoy reading new posts that contain new 'discoveries', and the results of fearless diode testers of which I am one.

This thread maybe should be closed..
