I first joined LPF when I was about 12, but I too find those single-posters that contribute nothing very annoying. LPF used to be people ripping apart new things, testing diodes etc, and there still IS a few people on there that do that, but it has been flooded up with "ZOMG CANz yo help me buld a 200GW laz0rr?!" kind of posts. I can't bash LPF, as it has been my home for many years before I found myself interested in scanners and more "high tech" stuff, but I too find that LPF has gone wayyy down hill since those legal issues. The admin is great, _most_ of the members are nice, but now there is less intelligent people just trying to get good reps so they can sell lasrs for a lot more than they are worth.

And yes, a rep system on LPF was originally BlueFusion and my idea, and we thought it would help point new buyers away from people with a bad reputation, but just take a look at any one's rep page and you can see why it didn't work :P

Lets not start forum bashing here, but atleast a discussion on PL doesn't end up with people saying "I has maor repz than ch00, so I no mor" kinda thing :P

can i just say i am a member on LPF and have been for many years. ive never had a problem to be honest, not saying everyone on there is perfect.

the attitude of a small number of people isnt necessarily the attitude of the everyone else on the forum

when i want a real answer from go to people you guys here rock i usually use pms from jerry or hemlock always steer me in the right direction
although i see them over there too i really want to make me a scanner hopefully by this time next year i'll understand them enough to do so or to at least start collecting some parts togather

My Dad spent some time as a PI DI, and having had a marine as a father, I can scream somewhat like that, but prefer not to.

There are 3 or 4 guys over at LPF that are really , really, good, too bad we cant lure em over here.

It did not start off that way. I posted that I was banned, and why I thought why.

yeah dave it did turn into that, that was not the intent, but it is not the first time a contributor (someone who contributes) has been banned and a Trolling D bag (has been a multipal d bag many times and not been banned) named tj has been rewarded. Avery is cool, but the elders allow trolls and haters and trouble makers to roam the hallowed halls of the forum. Which is sad, I understand you can not ban anyone for free speach, but the trolls have rep points which is a slap in your face for your excellent contributions.

If trolls were shunned they would go away, but they are encouraged by some in some bad behavour (and are awarded rep points). You are a giant amongst giants in your level of expertise. I have learned much just by reading your post. It is a very complicated problem. TJ tries to pick fights, start witch hunts and bull baits people into arguments..he would not last 2 minutes over here...and that is the only difference. I say...destroy the point system and people will earn their reputation by example not an old boys network.
