    Default SF-AW210 RGV Projector

So I'm working on my first RGV build now but run into a little snag...I have the "6x" SF-AW210 405nm with the 405-G-1 glass lens mod but I'm not sure what to run it at to ensure a healthy life but still be as bright as possible.

The diode is mounted in a solid chunk of aluminum so heat shouldn't be a problem..

There is some info on the diode here if anyone is interested...(seem to have mixed results)

    any help would be appreciated
    Thanks,
    -Brooks

In my opinion, for any reliable operation in a projector, 150mW out of the 6x diodes was a good point. If you're feeling edgy, 200mW is the most I would push this to.

This obviously applies to the GGW sleds. I have a couple of these, but havn't had the time to test them as I did the older ones...

Let me know what you find out

so do you think that 170ma would be fine...that should be ~~200-210mw with the lens mod

this is to be used with 100mw 532nm and ~200+mw 650nm LOC

That could be okay. I have personally not tested these yet, so I cannot tell you how well they'd perform. I would say that 200mW should be a fair enough power for a short period of time

I personally set mine at 150mW

These diodes, at least the three that i've had, are impressive.

I have one that was doing 290mW @ 215-220mA and that's through a crappy aixiz acrylic lens. Lots of power...

the others were a bit more tame, but still quite a bit of power doing 240-250mW @ 198mA through the same lens.

What's the life expectancy like on these ones at these powers?

I had one that ran for close to 25 hours with absolutely no power loss until I got it a bit too close to the business end of a running HeNe tube. It caught a little spark and that's all she wrote. But, the others are doing fine. I would think that ~200mA would live for a while, but no one really knows because these just hit the market. I mean, some of these diodes will do close to 200mW @ 150mA, with an aixiz lens, so imagine a GOOD lens. You'd be getting around 250+mW with only 150mA of current which I think would live for a long time.

So I Finally have my diode all set up with the glass lens mod in my projector but Im not sure what to set it at..

This is with the 405-G-1 glass lens:
    130ma-191mw
    150ma-241mw
    180ma-284mw
    200ma-335mW

I want this to be as powerful as possible but not enough to dramatically shorten its life.

    Any thoughts????????
