On a hi-res toshiba laptop, this layout is a lot of eye strain and the font is lethal . I do like the fact that it is not the "Angry Fruit Salad" color scheme.

Agreed I did the same thing...

At the bottom left of the page there is a drop-down menu...

I prefer the older layout as well. Call me old school I guess!

Yeah, that bugs me too. It's not a hard rule to remember, but nonetheless lots of people can't seem to get it right. Sigh...

Another one creeping into common use is "He should of told him".

This one crops up all of the time on a forum that I moderate. It grates on me especially when it's written by members that I know are quite high ranking in government jobs. Of course; I never highlight it as it's a forum dedicated to "oldskool" house music, not an intellectual forum!

Bring back birching? I like that idea

What I'm trying to say is "I like the ideas wot youv got and i think that peeps wot rite in txt speek by riting everything in shorthand and calling every1 m8 and never using any punct8tion reelly duz me nugget in and its not gr8 m8"

    Or something to that effect.

Talk about your basic deer-in-the-headlights moment... My wife was attending some training for a job with the post office back in the late 1990's. (She ended up turning the job down, which was probably a good thing in retrospect!) Anyway, the woman teaching the class would say things like, "I'm going to be very pacific when I explain this, because you need to understand it." Groan!

Also, while I was in College, my English 102 teacher (who was from New York) tried to tell me that a double-negative was "acceptable" in some situations. As in "She doesn't have no money." I couldn't believe my ears! Needless to say, after I completed the class I reported the teacher to the Dean...
