Shoutboxes are great, but I feel that help should be posted in threads, so it's etched there for other people to search through months later...
However, they're good for folks just saying " 'ow do" 
But could quickly turn into a sketch from Monty Python...

I have thought about a "shout box" add-on but like mentioned above; I like the idea of the data being available for future people to search and get.
I am considering a chat room system hosted locally though I am still fielding different ideas to allow people to connect live.
