    Default 445nm

I just want to profess my love for 445nm. Especially 1 watt of it.

I've never seen it in person

Closest I have is 50mW of 442nm.... which is gorgeous.

    Hello!
Yes, the 445nm are generally nice. But for me it is a bit to violet, the magenta colors are beautyful, but the Cyancolors a bith milky/whitysh and has a "big" color room, so it fades fast from 445nm dark blue to green cyan and green!
Generally I like the 457nm more.
Also the problem on the 445nm is the beam. The 500mW diodes upwards have a bad beam. 3,5*1,5mm at output and after >20m it is really a rectangle! That isnīt nice if you must go on longer distances.
And principially you canīt do more than 3, maximum 4W , more isnīt possible with a good beam. Pointly you didnīt want have the beams like the chinese 635nm 500mW widestripe lasers.
Yes, there are guys who coubles 12Diodes.... But if you have 12diodes, side by side, you will have a >3*6mm beam with 1mrad. Now you collimate it to 4*2mm, good, but have 1,3mrad!! That isnīt really nice.

    Greets,
    Phil
