Web-based EDM creation tool - try it!
It's called HobNox, and it's one of the coolest uses of FLASH I've seen in a while.
Have a look: http://www.hobnox.com/index.1056.en.html
I'm no composer, but I have to admit that I wasted the better part of an afternoon playing around with this thing... If you read reddit, then you've probably seen it at least once, but they've added a bunch of new devices and controls. The tone matrix layout is the easiest to understand, but it's only the beginning! Try the drums and bass layout if you're into any sort of electronic dance music. (Very cool...)
Once you figure out the controls, you'll spend hours playing with it. Oh, and if you register with them (it's free), you can upload your songs to your profile on their website (keep them private or make them public, your choice), and then you can download the high quality audio to your PC!

You've posted some good stuff lately, reminds me of 'rebirth' back in the day..
too bad my 2.1gHz athlon CPU can't keep up!

Yeah, it works the CPU pretty hard.
It skipped once or twice on my Athlon X64 system...
Rebirth, eh? I was just thinking that it reminds me a lot of Reason, which is essentially a more developed version of Rebirth, right? (They were both developed by Propellerhead software...) Reason is of course more expensive, but it also has a lot more features than HobNox does. Still, they both get rather complicated once you get away from the default layouts.
Wish I had more time to play... I've got a buddy that did some original creations in Reason, and they were really awesome.
