You hadn't edited that post with those details yet... (Was saying 'insert pic here' or similar, and only mentioned sines when I wrote that).
Cool circuit though, it looks a bit like an adaptation of a triangle+square generator based on a dual amp in a book by RM Marston. I'd had an idea that might work somehow but hadn't explored it much. I'd wondered instead if your quad square generator might do it instead by charging caps with constant current.

4046 PLL's might also be coerced into some useful generators.

RM copied it from where it was published, by Pimentel in "Electronics" in 1972

[QUOTE=dave;143004]What about some sort of quadrature sine wave oscillator?

How about a quadrature triangle? May I suggest this as a alternative to my flip-flop walking ring counter:

Having worked a lot with sinusoidal quad oscillators, may I suggest they are very lossy and hard to start unless you have ultra low dissipation caps... It makes nice quadrature triangle and square waves that are symmetrical about zero, You may need a buffer amp or some gain to fully drive a galvo amp. Takes a while to start up. Set for about 50 Hz as shown.

Generates a nice diamond and a nice quad square, but component values are tricky. If you have problems with startup, hook a 1 to 10 Meg resistor to one of the non inverting inputs to V+ with a normally off pushbutton. Takes about 300 milliseconds to start up, and this is significant, makes a nice, slow, "zoom up" effect. PL TRICKY TESTER2..bmp

I know this is an old thread, just wanted to give Steve credit. I'll be using his quadrature square wave generator design in the ILDA splitter. If I can get it built in time!

    Thanks Steve!
