Don't forget to put LivePro on your shopping list

As like you I bought my FB3 without Live Pro USB. As you have since upgraded, is the cost for Live Pro USB still the same as buying it with the FB3? I think I'm right thinking the price is the same but not 100% sure.

    Sorry for the delayed reply...
The bloomin' internet has died in the flat so I'm postin' off me phone.

Yes, LivePro has oodles more cues that LiveQuick. I grabbed one of Glen Turners workspaces from here (can't remember the thread), but have a look for it. If not I'll send it to you. It's worth a look.

I bought the FB3-XE and that shipped will all the software inc. LivePro (but unlicensed) so it wouldn't load up. Then a few weeks after I bought it, I contacted Bill and paid about $250 for the licence file which was emailed across and fed into LivePro.

Even with my limited time using LivePro, if you can afford to buy it, you can't afford to miss out on it!
It really does put livequick to shame looking back

If you're still not convinced, you can hook up your projector and have a play with it on my laptop at the meet if you want.

    Hope that helps,
    Dan

    Thanks for the reply Dan.

I don't think I can wait any longer and will be getting in touch with Bill at Pangolin. Just needed the cost of the upgrade confirming.

Well in a day or two I will be joining the Live Pro league. Just got my licence sorted with uncleworm for my FB3.

Edit : Is the Licence an attachment to the email and if so have you made a backup for just incase?

    Hi Carl,
Congrats on the purchase! I bet you're checking your email every 10 mins waiting for the reply

Yes, the licence file does come through as an attachment; it's actually a .bmp which has some sort of coloured encoding strip on the bottom, very clever
I've re-burned the original CD with a copy of it on for keeps.

But should worst come to worst and you end up loosing all backups of your licence file, I should think that Bill would be able to trace back your purchase and send you another copy. However prevention is the best solution.

    All the best,
    Dan

I now have Live Pro for my FB3 running on my computer but when I opened the program for the first time I was a bit shocked to see the workspace blank / empty. Is this the way Live Pro comes and I'm just expecting to much for my money or am I missing something?

I know that Dan Briggs offered to send my a work space and I would appreciate it if you would Dan but I thought that I would have had at least one page of Cues to play with from the start.

I've sent a PM to Francesco with the hope of a pleasing answer

Click the Open icon in the top left, there should be a workspace in the root of the Live Pro folder... It will have the extension .lpw...

    Cheers

I've been using Glenn's since day 1, and I'm still finding more cues and settings tucked away

You can grab it here: http://www.pangolin.com/ubb/showflat...=0&page=1#1496

Have you had a play with WinAmp yet? That's good to start having a play with

    Hi Mark

Thanks for the Pointer to the Work Space.

Shit! What have I got my self into with this program. This is mind blowing and I've only started playing with the Preset Cues. I am a person thats easily impressed though.

I got me a new fogger at the weekend. Not an expensive one. It's a SoundLab 700w for £33 from CPC. I know it's not the best on the market but as I'm looking to add some 642 Red to my RGB I could not justify spending more at the moment but I did need a fogger.

Any way was having a little play tonight and thought you would all like to see a few photo's. The last is an attempt to show the power up against 4x50w Halogen spotlights.

    Attachment 7592
    Attachment 7593
    Attachment 7594
    Attachment 7595
    Attachment 7596

    Just to remind you the Red is 671nm - 270mW, Blue is 473nm - 100mW* and the Green is 532nm - 160mw.

*The Blue is playing up a bit at the moment so the power above is it's rated power. I have no idea what it's outputting at the moment but I doubt it's the rated power but I'm hoping Rob can fix this and even squeeze some more out of it as well.

O and that's day light behind the curtains.

    Carl
