You need one of DZ's color boards! That will help the problem a lot.

Installing the board won't fix; you still have to tune the board. Much more than "half" the battle...

Well if that's the case, forget it! Pots are my friends, I can usually get them to cooperate.

Hey guys, actually, tuning the color board really isn't that hard. And from that looks of what 300evil is trying to fix, all you may need to do is adjust offset for red and leave the delays alone. One of the things that we discovered in our 6 hour bout with the color board, is that it fixes the color tails when the lasers are brought up to full brightness. Since everything in between is a mess for solid state lasers, it's really going to take an optical feedback loop to really help. And the problem with that, is you are limited by the bandwidth of the modulation input to the laser iself. The color delay board offers a huge benefit, but it doesn't quite get us to gas/pcaom...

I second that! Any idea when your optical feedback board will be done and what kind of price range we are looking at?

Sorry guys, no idea on when/if it will be ready. I'd like to keep the price to less than $75 if I can. Sadly, I haven't had the chance to work on that project for a couple weeks now. I just finished another batch of color boards and as of this morning I'm down to 1 breakout board assembled. So I've got some work to do.

Speaking of which, if anyone out there is interested in doing some work on this optical feedback idea, I have several of the photodiodes available that I can send out. You'd have to commit to helping develope this product or return the photodiode. And understand that there will be little to no profit margin in this...
