The inner faces of the cube have coatings which selectively route laser beams of a given polarization. PBS cubes demonstrate optical reciprocity and may thus be used to combine or split beams. Provided one beam has S (vertical ) polarization and the other beam has P (horizontal) polarization, the beams may be combined. If a randomly polarized beam enters the cube, it will be split into its P and S components. Typically the S component goes straight through the cube and the P component enters or exits at a right angle.

Is it possible to have these others as well?

In fact, you can see the line where the two prisms come together quite well in this picture...

There are many abbreviations used in the laser world, and I think that the topic starter asks a very valid question.
Since I am also new to this all I can only contribute in this thread with a link to Sam's Laser FAQ: http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/lasersam.htm I hope the topic starter can find some explanations on that site...
Just do like keeperx - GOOGLE !!

    All kidding aside -

If there are some specific abbreviations you're not sure about, just ask, and you'll probably get a quick - and legit - response.
