    Andy,

I had the same issue you had with audible noise when increasing lamp current on my LS800.

In my case, the lamp current and output itself was stable as far as i could tell but the laser output was eratic.

I solved my issue by increasing the Q switch RF output

I suspect the noise you may be hearing is an eratic first pulse drilling your optics as the Q switch isnt handling the increased optical power very well.

Pat is the expert here and I would love a full on technical discussion but he is too afraid to talk..LOL

Hope you sort it out !

    Hi Simon,

Its doing this in CW mode, not even considered the q-switching yet until I find the cause of the wobbling beam.

Today I will connect the KTP heater to see if that stops it, if not then it will be a guessing game to find it.

I don't get it as the 1064nm is very stable in power and also looking from an IR viewer the IR beam is perfect even at the output coupler stage.

Seams to be very related to the KTP as adjustments there directly effect the beam quality of the 532nm so this is why I think its the heating or even a bad crystal.
