As for the power requirements of the stock laserscope setup: I have no problem running the system off of my dryer outlet (240 30 amps), I even made a long extension cord for it so that I could bring it out of the garage.

Also I bought the ktp oven controller that is recommended on another post and I am about to rip out the computer of this beast so that I can have more control of the beam shaping optics and get rid of all that power monitoring stuff. Can anyone give me some hints or words of advice on this operation?

    Thanks Sean
I would recommend you take your time on moding your laserscope . Also make sure you dont put over 6 amps into your oven controller. Ive smoked a ktp oven with 24 v at 9 amps !! Ouch !! Good thing I have spares . There are critical rules you must follow when you operate this laser moded. If not you can thoroughly F@#k up your optics instantaneously !!! Your best bet is to buy Daystar lasers( John's ) Controller and related components for operating your system. , Norm

I understand from a friend that pulsed lasers will not be legal in europe soon for use in concerts & public places.

    Are they legal in USA?

Yes, since technically only about 3 venues or less have legal aud scanning.

Our rules specifiy no emissions above class I at the audience.

Isn't that kinda a false statement? Class 1 means nothing is exposed, so how would you expose someone to class one.

Class one is NOT nothing exposed.

rules say in NOT IN EXCESS of class one, which is 320 uW per square CM^2 or so.

Oh okay, I thought it had to be made so no exposure to the beam was possible.
