Default Unused Omnichrome 151 Argon PSU boards

    Good Day,

I have ten Omnichrome argon power supply unit, that were never quite completed. I purchased these almost eight years ago from the original owner of Omnichrome, when he was cleaning out his workshop and retiring. In addition he supplied me with the heart of the PSU's the oscillator and oscillator cards (all custom wound for these PSU's). If anybody has any insights into this board let me know the model/revision is listed as: "Power Supply BD Alps Rev D-4".

My original plan was to rebuild an Omnichrome 151 power supply I purchased (a pile of parts and a board with nice burns on it). As you can guess, they have been sitting in static bags in a basement ever since, unfortunatly next to my ALC60X multiline head .

Another PL member thought I should post some pictures of my boards, and with the current interest in argons (or broken ones) I thought it may be a good time to post them... If anybody is interested in a few of these boards let me know, we can work something out.

    Steve,

I am interested. If anybody else wants to build one at the same time, I would be willing to give you a board.

Will these work for an ALC60X?

    I am interested...

I do have a lonely argon head that could use this power supply...

yeah, they will power about anything from 5 mW to 400 mW aircooled

we will need to come up with a replacement for the wierd hall sensor he used, as I doubt it is still made, but modern Hall sensors are about 20$. The heatsink is another pain to duplicate, but doable with patience.

I'll try to scan in the drawings this weekend

I'm jammed up as I just got back from a trip to daytona on a job interview,

Steve, I believe the torriods may actually be part of the hall sensor boards. I remember he said without those the boards are almost useless, (the boards from ebay, and the sensors ordered after (well and a half complete glass lathe, that now is in Alaska). I will pull everything out of the bag and take more pictures of the parts to see if we can sort things out. In addition I will provide a picture of the guts of my "complete" board for everyone's future reference.

Thank you everybody for your interest and many many thanks to Steve for his help!

    Default More pictures...

    As promised, more pictures, I created a gallery : http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...php?albumid=76 .

Steve, sorry I did not get a better picture but could those 4 pinned black housing with white stripes be the sensors? I think I have enough for five boards (earlier I thought I had ten of everything).

Daytona? That's two hours from here... How'd it go? Perhaps we can get another Floridian laserist soon
