    Default Internal parts of Laserscope

I have a model 813 Laserscope ktp 532, in the optical line, after the last mirror in the z-fold resonator and after the turning prism there is a lense that is mounted in a rotating assembly that is rotated with a stepper motor, what does this do? Does it have something to do with the control of the output power?

Its a polarizer, and yes it has something to do with the output power.
