Unhappy Need laser repair on CNI 473nm

    Hey guys,
My CNI (well really a re-labeled extremelasers) laser recently died. It was a 100mw EL one so I'm assuming a 50-80mw cni. I didn't get a chance to meter it before it died.

When I turn it on, it just gives a quick flash of blue and then there's nothing.

Its OOW since I had to take apart the lab case in order to fit it into my projector.

Can anyone here recommend the best person to talk to about this? How much do you think it would cost for repair?

    Thanks!
    Eliav

If it still gives a flash of blue light, then id say a driver/connection problem. If it just glows dimly or not at all, then i'd say diode too.

It sounds like your diode has died, You will want a 2W B mount w/FAC laser diode and indium foil to mount it. It would be better since your gonna rip it apart anyway to use a c-mount with a massive heatsink and remount the blue guts on a TEC cooled mount of some sort. Hope this helps you

lol Just FYI this was sent to MachEng3 and I'm going to end up selling it for parts. It's just not worth it to fix
