    The battery is for keeping time. What happens is when the laser is turned on , the beam will bend time and space . So a clock is used to keep you in this dimension . You want to make sure that battery is still good or you could be lost in time . !!

    Hey All,

    Not sure what that battery is for. My first thoughts were for some kind of memory
    back-up. I'm trying to get a user manual from Oxford so, we'll see.

    Platinum got a manual in PDF for his ACL45 from Oxford. It is "THE BEST" laser operating manual I have EVER seen. Very detailed and well laid out. I'm sure Oxford will hook you up.

    I bet the battery is a backup for a cooling system or perhaps a safety device.
