I don't quite understand why you are being as you are Andre - surely constructive criticism/feedback good or bad, to you is better than no feedback at all?

Enough from me, I have given my points of concern and you are obviously offended by my primary findings of your new baby. Lets hope not all companies from now on act in this manner else industry as a whole will just never progress.

My advice would be to listen to your 'customers' feedback, and by that I mean everyones not just mine, and if you want to progress any then maybe - EDIT - remove the word 'act' and replace with 'maybe take into consideration' - upon what is said and not just retort with non productive sarcasm.

    + Enhanced LAN interfacing

Mamba 2.0 leads forward in LAN interfacing of your projector. The new LAN interface and playback card allows integration in existing projectors, and eliminates all analog control signal wires to your projector. A simple CAT 5 LAN cable will do! And it´s more than that: Interface multiple independent projectors to one LAN line, by simply using a standard low-cost network switch – up to 16 projectors on one LAN line!
    Go ethernet!

I like this feature, so many possibilities and great to not be tied to the projector via a ultra long D25.

So thumbs up from me on that.

    (does it cost extra?)

Well, your last two posts didn't contain any constructive elements, that's all. Enough from me as well. If you don't like it, nobody forces you to use it. And about suggestions from the community: I don't think I need to mention over and over again that I appreciate all the feature requests and that a number of them already went into Mamba over time. People like stanwax spent night over night with testing (and I spent night over night with fixing their findings and more), and I can't even start emphasizing how important a live community is. My main problem back then was that the original code had a very limited and b0rked design and I had to spend a lot of time on rewriting things. And you're not the only one complaining about "no progress" just because all you can see is the outward appearance, and you may or may not have the slightest idea about the amount of work involved. That's not an excuse, I'm just stating the facts.

EOD for me now, I got to work on Mamba

I have no clue how that went into the announcement, and after talking with the others, I was told to announce that the student apprentice will be executed tomorrow at noon

There is no such limit, just make sure to use reliable network equipment.

OK, clear. However, make sure to test the maximum number of projectors you can use on one LAN network and state that in the specs. There is always a max

    Talking

That heavily depends on your network setup and the depth of your pockets, I suppose. With gigabit ethernet on your comp and a decent switching architecture, you can easily fire like 100 projectors

We already had mixed setups with conventional dacs and lan-based dacs running, totalling in about 30 projectors. Worked like a charm It was just A BIT bright, I almost feared to spontaneously crumble to dust

Indeed, does he not realize "LAN-Line" is terrible use of terminology !

So each projector occupies one IP ?

Yes, most lan-based projectors will have one IP per device which equals one IP per projector. If someone has hardware with multiple projectors on one IP, send me the docs and I'll add support I guess

No, I absolutely believe in bananaware. And I spared no pains to make Mamba 2.0 as slow as possible, with a reduction of the feature set at the same time.

Allergy warning: Post may contain sarcasm.
I must say I am really stunned by this kind of "professionalism".
Are you posting this as Andre or as a Medialas programmer ?

Al though posted as sarcasm, will we ever find posts like this by programmers of pangolin/moncha/phoenix ? No, they post exclusively on their controlled corporate forums, and for a reason.

Is is really a corporate choice of ML to let you communicate this way with "the community"?
And look what it resulted in. What has it gotten you?

Then again, is the community really divided in "constructive contributers" and "never-pleased vinigar pissers"?

If ML really values a constructive dialog with the community, is this the way they see fit for optimized software sales ? I doubt it. Do they care about "the public image" of mamba, sure they do, but do they really act as such ?

Medialas should really learn to communicate about their software in a consistent and transparent way.
No through "old grumpy" ánd through leaking info to "Banthai" ánd through a newsletter ánd though mambablack.com ánd though medialas.com ánd if you call Dirk you get yet another story.

What happend to mamba 2004? What happend to the open hardware concept? What happend to sms?
Is mamba still shipped with that über-crappy vst? Where is the demo ?
What happend to the somewhat consistent layout? The icons I once designed are crippled in the newlayout!
