Yes I understand. But let me point out that, I guess our behavior blurs the line between update and upgrade. For example, in LD2000 version 2.0, we introduced (to the world...) Projection Zones. We didn't ask for more money... All along we have been adding new programs. For example, Asteroids, the Winamp plug-in, TraceIT, LC-Flash, etc. Each time we have added these things and incremented our version number, but never asked for more money... Each one of these things could have been deemed an "upgrade".
And with our latest development, Lasershow Designer QuickShow version 1.0, again, we are giving this to Pangolin users at no cost. This is 100% new software developed from the ground up, with all brand new features. We could, if we so choose, cal this an "upgrade". So far we have not.
Basically, as long as new clients keep buying our software, it allows us to give more and more to existing clients. That's the business model we have used for a long time. I don't want to change it. But if people are willing to pay for version 2 of one sofware, or version 3 of another, then it's mighty tempting... After all, I just love them pink Hummers with P logo on the side and beams in the back.
But I digress... (or do I?)
