    Bart,

the answer to your question is just plain simple. Do I post as "MediaLas GmbH" or do I have something like "Official Spokesman" in my profile? No? I think that leads to the conclusion that I'm posting as a private person here. I wouldn't want to be anything else, either. The community seems indeed somewhat divided, one poster writes that the GUI is still too old and ugly, the next one complains about the changes. Oh my. Maybe it would really be more professional to just leave and let people rant on all day. What do you think?

I worked all day and half of the night during the last weeks, and sorry if I don't go LMAO when I get questions like "has it been tested at all" here. Possibly it wasn't the brightest answer but the questions weren't that funny, either.

If you want to complain about MediaLas communication policy, go call them or write a dunning letter. It's none of my matter, I'm just working on Mamba. Some time ago people HAD constructive suggestions, and that's where my feqture request list comes from. Today I just see a lot of ranting why this and that and what not.

Don't get me wrong, I'm disappointed because I know you folks can do better than what I see here. Not because you don't cheer and hooray and praise the new version

    Andre,
Although I am not a Mamba Black person (I went straight to Pangolin) I do appreciate the fact that we have access (via this forum) to folks who are working in companies on the very products that we all use.
That kind of access is invaluable in providing feedback and having a direct route (even if it isn't "official" in your case) to the "movers and shakers".

Ya just gotta roll with the punches.........

There was good reason to that question Andre as I have been in incommunicado with a good friend of mine who has used the new SW and to loosely coin a phrase - found it 'horrendously slow' in it's operation to use - compared to the old version hence my questioning.

I work all day and get paid for it - I don't expect any more. If I wasn't happy with what I got I would move on.

I hope I am not being classed as a 'never-pleased vinegar pisser' either as I would be MORE than happy to purchase this SW and gladly use it if it did indeed performed as good as all the hype said it was going to perform.

So far I have not seen or heard reports of much offering positivity to the hype.

I want MB to be good, darn good in fact, the best! but constrictive criticism MUST be listened too to enable anyone getting to this standard.

Whooooaaaa Bart hold ya horses there buddy

    Cos You said .....
Medialas should really learn to communicate about their software in a consistent and transparent way.
No through "old grumpy" ánd through leaking info to "Banthai" ánd through a newsletter ánd though mambablack.com ánd though medialas.com ánd if you call Dirk you get yet another story.
I did not leak any info ...

the information in my first post was sent by Dirk ( in a press release style ) to me Via the Ilda list which means that myself and every other Ilda member recieved a copy of this information... NO SECRETS...

Mambablack.com was a website setup by Myself and Rob ( stanwax ) to provide a portal of information ... userguides ... help files .... and a place that users could upload tips and tricks to be shared with other users .... we wanted to do this because we felt that the Manual was rather limited
we did this with the aproval of Dirk .....

But before we could complete it Medialas anounced that the new version of the software would have online help built in ... that woulkd connect to there own portal etc ... so me and Rob were a bit miffed over this and it was never completed ...

In fact i Migrated over to Pangolin Qm2000 of which im very pleased with in all aspects of customer service ... updates ... and quality ... so im no longer officialy a mamba user

My original Post was just to share the Info as i know Dirk does not post on here ... and to Commend Andre on his hard work getting the product onto the market place ... i admire anyone who can program to this level ( something that i wish i could do )

    All the best ... Karl

Exclamation This is supposed to be a good deal?

So, $210 to upgrade... Hmmm. That's half the price I paid for it brand new just a few years ago.

Sorry Old Grumpy, but between the extra cost and your bad attitude, I think I'd rather spend my money on something else. At least Pangolin is still offering their upgrades (and new shows) for free.

Yeah, I did see that. I hope Bill changes his mind on that one. But he's got a point... For 10 years, everything has been free. Still, in that 10 years he's built up a heck of a lot of goodwill in the community. Sure wish other developers would take a cue from him in that regard...

A totally new/different product, yes.. just charge. More features in an existing product? Discutable. "service" update of an existing product? Free, absolutely.

However, when buying a relatively expensive piece of hardware like the QM2000.NET, I expect many more (free) upgrades, new features en new software for a long term than when I buy something "cheap". It's something I invested in.

Well leaking might be a to strong word for it. My post reflects my experiences with the ml communications.

Out of all the (semi) pro (laser) softs I worked with, mamba surely has the strongest banana taste to it.
I know oldgrumpy is trying his very best to change that now, but ML allowed mamba to be an unstable and unfinished product for 5 years. No to mention the firmware of the "crashles OS avatar" or its pc proggy.
