Here are three neat little "stocking stuffer" bits of vintage laseriana (is that now a word?) currently on Ebay:

    1) 1964 Goldfinger's Laser pin: http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-8-1964-LAS...60510369075%26

    2) NASA poster showing the Raytheon prototype for the first commercial laser and other very early laser devices, well worth framing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/laser-NASA-F...60510369075%26

    3) "Atomic Light: Lasers", a 1967 book packed full of pictures of '60s lasers and applications: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atomic-light...item2ec3bedc71

Nice find Andy, I didn't get much change from $100 for the one I bought.

Just be careful, the last tap I bought off ebay was laser etched as a m9 x 0.5mm on the shank, but the threads it cut were m9 x 0.75mm

mi-lasers has a bunch of vandate and KTP crystals listed http://www.ebay.com/sch/mi-lasers/m....p2047675.l2562
of particular interest is http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Nd-YVO4-...item2ec3e53e7f which is a vandate crystal that appears to be designed for pumping at 880nm, (it is very long and highly doped), presumably at fairly high power
