Found this on Bostons Craigslist. Not sure if it works, or if it is a good deal, but might be worth a look.

Laserscope Surgical Laser System KTP / 532

The 25 mW green laser for $375 is a great deal; I can't touch that price.

Just pick up a couple of these to play with... http://www.ebay.com/itm/ColorMaker-G...-/261352029880

They are usually ~$30. Can you use these to combine RGB beams for projectors instead of separate dicros?

you will have much better luck combining RGB beams with dichros on adjustable mounts.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Sure, I just want to mess around with some low power pens. It would be kind of cool to make a <400mW RGV for under $30. I know it can be done. http://hacknmod.com/hack/how-to-pock...iro-projector/

It would be a good project for some younger projector n00bs.

I still have a couple sets of those GAL-3's somewhere. Hell, I even have a set of the GAL-2's in a box in the closet somewhere. (Those were pulled from a Laserdisc player, I think.) The GAL-3's were steppers, but they worked OK enough for lissajous patterns and stuff. I have one of the MWK lissajous boxes too, and every now and then I'll drag it out just to fool with it some...

    The controller looks like this:

NICE! I haven't seen one of those lissajous generators in a long time!

We were gluing the magnets onto those galvos and I think it was Wayne Hoover that said to ditch the magnets and put 5V on the unused pole of the steppers. From there, the scanners were a little more accurate mainly because you lost the inertial weight of the magnets.
