Thanks Krazer! I bought this and sent it to lasersam for Samspection. It turns out we know the seller, a holographer in Russia. It is a small laser world...best regards! Phil

What a find!
I'd have snagged that 2-B tube in a heartbeat had I seen it in time!
EDIT: I found a second one, dibs?

Bob Hess said he was going to bid so you have competition. He is the ultimate laser collector. We have no idea if the tube is still sealed of course but we hope it works.

I can respect that, I'll let this one slide with fingers crossed for another

Looks like they took a regular HeNe, and side-saddled it to the actual bore, with attached internal mirrors.
Also, anybody want a portable N2 laser?![]()

That is a Spectra Physics 155 laser that has been removed from the case. It is epoxy sealed internal mirrors, random polarization and 0-1.3 mW output. They had an ND filter to adjust to make them under 1 mW new. The first thing I do when I buy one is to remove that. If you want one I will sell you a good one (some active getter remaining, good color) for $150.![]()

That N2 laser looks like MacGyver built it and is also dangerous. Good lord!![]()

The SP 155 sans case actually looks OK. We can find you a case...$cheap![]()

I wouldn't put it in a caseI like the unique look. Though at that price tag, I will probably pass.
I've seen 155's in case for much cheaper on eBay in unknown condition. I simply was not aware that these were just 155's!
As far as the N2. I've never seen a TEA that doesn't look similarly dangerous. However, with building it yourself, you have the benefit of knowing where to not touch.
That just looks like a bomb needing defusing.
It is a conventional Laser Sciences Inc N2 module.

Qui habet Christos, habet Vitam!
I should have rented the space under my name for advertising.
When I still could have...
Most of the SP 155A lasers have 0 active getter remaining; at least the tube shown has some.If you want a bad one I can sell you one cheap! The home powered N2 laser cartridge thing would be interesting to try to take on a flight through TSA security. Hahahahahaha! Most small commercial lasers are no issue but one look at that thing and they would lock you up.
